Tami Roman Fans Race to Her Defense After Trolls Criticize Her Drastic Weight Loss

Tami Roman's weight was recently called into question after she uploaded a full-body photo of herself to Instagram.
The 52-year-old reality star-turned-actress showed fans what she looks like in her natural, wig-free state as she relaxed on a green couch.
“There's nothing like…coming home after a long day and taking off TF's wig [laughing emojis] Bras are next,” she wrote.

While the “House of Sinister” star looked stunning to some, several pointed out how slender Roman looked.
“Tammy don't lose another pound, girl, you hear me not lose another pound.”
“You look so skinny. What happened?”
While many of the comments were about Roman's weight, one in particular received more attention.
One @sherryyoung831 user wrote, “You look fit, no offense but you're a little too skinny. You look great.”
After reading the sarcastic praise, one fan decided it was time to fully defend Roman by educating people about her health.
“She's diabetic wtf.. dat really hates you,” one user said in response to the statement.

Roman candidly discusses her struggles with weight gain, being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and how it played a complex role in her body-distorting disease.
On “The Real” in 2021, the former “Basketball Wives” star said, “Today I'm 50 and I'm diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and my weight fluctuates and you associate that with the disease Come on, it’s a difficult thing to manage.”
Roman was plagued by the condition at the age of 13, after a stint at a modeling agency.
“I'm tall, 5'9″ and I'm skinny,” she told the host. She said that while her confidence was initially at an all-time high, it took a nosedive as the company's agents tore up her body.
“She made me stand in front of the mirror and say, ‘You've got creases in your back. You've got fat in your knees, and you know you need to do something with your jaw,'” says Roman.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder is a mental health condition that causes a person to become obsessed with their own appearance. According to Mayoclinic.org, it creates false flaws, leading people to develop a habit of covering up what they perceive to be flaws.
In Roman's case, she drank laxatives and vomited, and even had her jaw stitched up in 1993 to look slimmer.
While it's something she's grappled with for nearly 30 years, she's learned how to ignore her fans' comments and even sometimes respond to their unsolicited opinions with humor from time to time.
