Probiotic supporting weight management and gut health by Linpharma

Consumer interest in probiotics and weight loss products is high. Now, a new natural product that combines these two categories into a single supplement is hitting the market.of
Marketed as Innobiotic® Pro Burn, this supplement provides the gut health benefits of probiotics while promoting weight loss and management, and is custom formulated to achieve two goals: maintain gut and microbiome health and promote weight control. It achieves both goals successfully and safely, as proven in rigorous research and clinical studies.
A potential mechanism by which probiotics may contribute to weight control and even weight loss is through inhibition of dietary fat absorption in the host intestine. Dietary fat is metabolized by the body into free fatty acids (FFA) and glycerides. Probiotic microorganisms (JBD 301 and related strains) were therefore screened and selected to eliminate free fatty acids in the small intestine.
An important difference between Innobiotic® Pro Burn and prescription drugs currently used or repurposed for weight loss is its ability to regulate body weight without the unwanted side effects of abdominal pain, loose stools and other gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. In contrast to current prescription weight loss pills, regular injections are not required because the supplements are in capsule form and are easily taken orally.Efficacy of probiotic JBD301 and its active ingredients, Research was conducted in a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, which demonstrated that JBD 301 prevented weight gain in overweight subjects maintaining a normal (usual) diet.1of
The Clinical Research Behind the New Supplement
More than a decade ago, an article in the scientific journal Nature concluded that body weight “…contains a microbial component that may be of potential therapeutic interest.”2We now know that “microbial composition” can be multifactorial, and that the microbiota in the gut play an important role in regulating body weight. It is located in the gastrointestinal tract – specifically the small intestine – where nutrients from food and other sources are partially broken down and absorbed by the body. A healthy gut flora, including common bacteria, is essential for proper gut function. Probiotics are often used to help enhance or alter the gut microbiome to support the treatment of specific gut disorders or simply to promote or enhance gut health.
Dietary fats are broken down by a variety of enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract, from the mouth to the stomach and into the small intestine, where they are converted into more digestible lipids, including fatty acids. Fatty acids and other forms of lipids are absorbed from the small intestine wall and transported systemically throughout the body where they participate in normal and abnormal metabolic processes. Abnormal processes include promoting obesity as well as diabetes and other diseases. Researchers at Microbiotica GmbH, the German manufacturer behind Innobiotic® Pro Burn, reasoned that it would be possible to identify a probiotic, or bacterium, that intercepts and absorbs free fatty acids (FFA) in the gut before they are absorbed internally and distributed throughout the body. fatty acid (FFA).
The researchers investigated normal human feces and succeeded in identifying specific gut bacteria likely to absorb fatty acids. Screening 20,000 different bacterial strains from healthy stool, they narrowed their search down to a dozen candidate strains, four of which were selected for further study. These four Lactobacillus strains are species of bacteria commonly found in the gut and were shown to reduce the absorption of free fatty acids, thereby reducing body fat and weight gain in mice. Ultimately, tests showed that the four strains, JBD 301, JBD 302, 305 and 309, differed in their specific effects, including improving key metabolic markers such as blood triglycerides, cholesterol and glucose levels. Each is an important indicator of the body's overall metabolic function and plays an important role in obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

The third ingredient: plant polyphenols
Binding of probiotics to specific microorganisms (JBD) to modify substrates (fatty acids) is important for metabolic functions associated with obesity. Linpharma has further enhanced the ability of its new product to help manage weight by adding a third plant-based ingredient. Recent research has identified specific plant-based compounds with potential metabolic benefits associated with body weight.
Polyphenols are a group of compounds found in plants, including those commonly consumed as food. About 60 percent of polyphenols belong to a subgroup of compounds called flavonoids. Flavonoids are found in a variety of fruits and foods, from red wine to dark chocolate to berries. French life science company Fytexia has developed a unique process to extract and concentrate flavonoids from grapefruit, orange, blood orange and guarana seeds into a product called Sinetrol.
Over the past decade, multiple human and animal studies have evaluated the potential of siloleyl alcohol to aid in weight management. Animal studies aimed at determining the mechanism of action of Sinetrol on body weight have shown that it alters fundamental metabolic processes by manipulating adipocytes (fat cells) from a primary fat-storing role to a cell that plays an important role in fat storage. provide energy. Sinetrol appears to promote the conversion of fat-storing cells (white fat cells) into fat-burning cells (brown/beige fat cells).3,4,5of

The effect of Sinetrol was analyzed on more than 300 subjects in four clinical (human) trials. Results showed that Sinetrol reduced abdominal fat deposits and waist circumference while increasing muscle mass.6,7Additionally, Sinetrol also reduced overall body weight and fat, resulting in an improved BMI.8,9Physiological parameters including blood sugar, inflammation and oxidative status were also improved.10,11of
The power of probiotics and polyphenols combined
The new Linpharma formulation results in a natural product that combines gut-healthy probiotics with a two-pronged approach to weight management. It is the result of formulating probiotics with custom microbes that aid in weight management and a novel extract (Sinetrol) to control fat metabolism.12,13of
The new product is made possible thanks to the close international collaboration between Linpharma, Microbiotica and Fytexia. The synergy of combining these products into a single supplement for the first time, backed by research and clinical trials, represents an exciting opportunity to open new markets/categories and improve health claims.
Consumers have recognized the promise of probiotics in promoting gut health and overall health. Adding weight management can only expand this lucrative category. According to Nutrition Business Journal, probiotics currently account for nearly 60 percent of the $4 billion gastrointestinal health market, which will continue to grow, growing 9 percent by 2021. Focusing specifically on weight management, Lumina Intelligence (which tracks e-commerce) reported a 500% increase in online reviews of probiotic weight management products.14of
Sales of supplements targeting weight loss and metabolic health continue to trend upward with continued growth. The non-dietary supplements market for weight management will grow to nearly $2 billion in sales by 2025.15A 17.3% increase in sales of herbal supplements in 2020 is evidence that consumer interest in natural botanical products such as Sinetro remains strong.16According to the Nutritional Business Journal, herbal formulas are the leading sales category in weight management following meal replacement products and sports supplements.15of
Fortunately, and importantly, the new Linpharma probiotics are not considered a new dietary ingredient under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. This ensures that brands and manufacturers can start production immediately with one or more JBD strains to meet the market's rapidly insatiable demand for natural weight management solutions.
Linpharma will facilitate its entry into the market by offering Innobiotic® Pro Burn products in two formats: a product containing the probiotics JBD 301, 302 and 305 and Sinetrol 900mgm in ready-made capsule form; the JBD probiotic strains can be purchased individually or together, with for customized branded products.
Available as Innobiotic® Pro Burn, or as individual individual ingredients, JBD Strain and Sinetrol will offer consumers a new natural and proven approach to weight management and overall health.
