However, fans were left confused after changes were made to the actress, comedian and producer's wardrobe.

The 43-year-old started the evening in a revealing dress by Vera Wang.
The look consisted of a fitted maxi dress with a peplum, the top half of which was connected to the bottom by just a few strips of cloth.
In addition to an exposed corset-style bodice, Mindy wore flared white sleeves below the elbows.
She wore dark, dramatic eye makeup and swept her loose hair back behind her shoulders.
However, midway through the prestigious event, her outfit caught fans' attention.
When Mindy presented the awards on stage with John Cho that night, she opted to wear the exact same black dress.
Viewers quickly took to Twitter to check whether their eyes were deceiving them.
Someone asked: “Did Mindy Kaling change into the exact same black dress??”

While the mother-of-twins dress change didn't win over all viewers, both dresses showcased the star's dramatic weight loss.
Last year, The View host Joy Behar came under fire for pointing out Mindy's weight while using offensive words.
In an episode of the holiday season, Joey, 80, made a comment on the radio when he saw the Mindy Project creator walk into the set.
When Mindy sat down next to Joy, the host said, “First of all, welcome to your skinny b***h show!”
Mindy smiled and replied, “Thank you, I'm so happy to be here. Thank you for having me, thank you for saying that.”
While Joy's comments appeared to be in jest, fans of The View were still shocked by her remarks.
“Joey called Mindy a skinny bitch,” tweeted angrily.
Another added in the online post: “Hmmm Joy says Dee is a skinny bitch a little bit wrong.”
