Mark Wahlberg’s new fitness regime now includes lie-in until 3.30am
Mark Wahlberg is known for having one of the most athletic physiques in the business, but it's not without some serious commitment.
However, the 51-year-old actor revealed that he has “dialed back” his notoriously strict diet and fitness regimen and is now allowing himself to sleep in, waking up at 3.30am instead of the current 2am 30 points.
Mark revealed in 2018 that he wakes up at 2.30am every day for morning prayers and an hour and a half of exercise before starting his day.
He also eats a breakfast of oats, blueberries, peanut butter and eggs, but now instead wakes up at 3:30 a.m. and fasts for 18 hours a day.
Mark revealed in a new interview wall street journal He now wakes up “between 3:30am and 4am” and starts his day by taking a bunch of supplements and vitamins, including turmeric and vitamins C and D.
Mark recently started drinking espresso in an effort to curb his appetite while intermittently fasting, which typically lasts from 6pm until 12noon the next day.
On his previous program, Mark ate up to eight meals a day and engaged in numerous workouts, but he claims his new routine has helped him spend less time in the gym and do less cardio, resulting in “better results.” “.
Mark told the media that when he “worked with [his] Routine,” explains: “Get proper rest and really stay focused. My spirituality, my faith has to be at the center of it all.
He added: “I don't have to do as much cardio, I don't have to spend as much time in the gym and I feel like my results are getting better and better.”
Mark now focuses on weight training instead of cardio, and likes to play golf before he starts eating at noon, but if he has to work harder in the gym to be effective, he further restricts his fasting to an hour or two.
Intermittent fasting is said to reduce inflammation and possibly promote muscle growth, but followers also warn that fasting can have less pleasant side effects, including hunger pangs, which can take weeks for the body to adapt.
Mark sticks to the regime at least five days a week and sticks to a 7.30pm bedtime in order to get up early and get his admin and other tasks done before everyone else wakes up.
He explained: “Wake up early in the morning with no one around. I’m going through all the emails of everyone I work with in every aspect.
“If I'm commuting to and from the golf course or in the car, I can make a lot of those calls in the morning.”
Mark, who is reportedly worth $400m (£336m), is married this year with wife Rhea Durham and their four children Ella, 19, Michael, 16, Brendan, 14, and Grace, 12, moved to Las Vegas looking for a better lifestyle than Los Angeles.
