Jillian Michaels Warns Against Using Diabetes Drug Like Ozempic For Weight Loss

Jillian Michaels Not a fan of the latest weight-loss trend — celebrities and millions of non-celebrities using diabetes drugs to lose weight — she says the actual data prove it's not worth the risk.
The fitness guru joined “TMZ Live” Wednesday and shared concerns about diabetes drug Semaglutide — sold under the brand names Wegovy and Ozempic among others — which is set to gain FDA approval in 2021 for people with weight-related health problems “Chronic weight management” in problematic adults.
Jillian told us that the injectable drug has significant side effects ranging from typical to severe… including thyroid cancer, kidney problems and pancreatitis.
Putting aside the fact that the diet craze is on hold—people love it Chelsea Handler, Elon Musk and Michael Rubin Already added – making it harder for people with diabetes to fill potentially life-saving prescriptions.
However, JM says these drugs don't actually help people achieve significant weight loss goals. What's really exciting, she added, is a study showing that some users regained nearly 70% of the weight they lost while taking the drug.
In the end, Jillian says you can achieve more effective, longer-lasting weight loss by being active and making better dietary choices.
She acknowledges that some people just want to take shortcuts, and says everyone can make a personal choice — but when you look at the data, it becomes clear that, for Jillian at least, the risks outweigh the potential short-term benefits.
