Jets’ Mekhi Becton drops epic weight loss selfie

It looks like Mekhi Becton is serious about trying to look his best for the New York Jets this offseason. On Wednesday, he took to social media with a massive tackle to show off his new slimmer physique.

this Post Featured A sweaty Becton poses in the gym asking “Did you work out today?” accompanied by a GIF that reads “DAM* I look good.”

Becton, who turns 24 in April, was jeered for getting out of shape and gaining weight during his first three NFL seasons. He's rumored to be over 400 pounds after he's sidelined in 2021 with a knee injury. The Jets' “big ticket” is 6-foot-7 and 363 pounds.

The 11th overall pick in the 2020 draft, Becton has played just one game over the past two seasons because of a knee injury and didn't play a game last season when he was injured in training camp. As a rookie, he played in 14 games.

When healthy, Becton is an athletic and powerful force on the line. He's been missed the past two seasons, and his health and recovery are key to the Jets' success going into 2023.

When Becton spoke to reporters late last season, he was already looking better.

“As you guys can see, I look really skinny now,” Becton joked at the time.

But neither Becton nor the Jets are kidding. In fact, if the Jets can sell Derek Carr or Aaron Rodgers on a healthy Becton and protect the quarterback's blind, it might be easier to get either QB this offseason.

It appears that Becton is indeed doing his part.
