Simpson's book reveals shocking revelations about her relationship with an unnamed and unavailable A-lister who she claims first met at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. “This superstar, who I grew up thinking was sexy, looked me up and down. It was like he was undressing me with his eyes,” she told readers about their first meeting.
At the time, Simpson's relationship with the singer ended Nick Crutchalthough she got the A-lister's number, she never called Lachey and reconciled with Lachey, whom she married in 2002.
After their divorce in 2006, Simpson met and shared a kiss with the star at the Beverly Hills Hotel, “warm breaths pouring into me all the way,” as she rekindled her secret romance, she recalls.
After assuring her that his relationship with his girlfriend was “completely over,” the two began spending time together in nightclubs, mutual friends' homes and even on movie sets. However, while Simpson initially found the hidden romance “sexy and alluring,” she recalls feeling at the time “there was also a demeaning element to it. I felt like a call girl.”
Simpson ended things quickly when he realized he had been sneaking up on her in an attempt to keep her from “his chick.”
“I don't care if he's my teenage fantasy come true, it's not the same girl my younger self would be proud to choose,” she recalls.
