How to lose weight naturally: Size 20 mum Brittany Gordon-Brown who suffered three miscarriages after weight spiralled drops 35kg

A mum who suffered 3 heartbreaking miscarriages lost 35kg naturally – without ever setting foot in a gym.
Brittany Gordon-Brown, from Queensland, is hoping to get pregnant again after giving birth to her first child, daughter Myra, four years ago, hoping to support her family.
But when she hit 115kg, the 35-year-old began to think that her weight gain had triggered multiple health problems and infertility struggles, shattering her dreams of having more children.

“Before my first miscarriage, I had never felt such a painful loss. It was devastating,” Brittany told 7Life.
“When the third miscarriage happened, I started to think my body had let these poor babies down.
“My priority is to lose weight to make sure I'm eating and functioning properly.”
Determined to change her life, the administrator adjusted her lifestyle from a size 20 to a size 12-14.
In the years leading up to her dramatic physical transformation, Brittany lived off unhealthy convenience foods.
“I didn't know how to eat and would grab whatever I could while juggling kids and a full-time job,” she recalls.
‘have no idea'
“I found that I was eating a lot of carbs and fat. I didn't know how or where to start and I needed my hands badly.”
According to a global study, women gain an average of about 11 to 15 kg during pregnancy.
Brittany said she ended up gaining 35kg.
While raising her daughter, she struggled with her pregnancy weight and was desperate to overcome unhealthy habits when she started suffering excruciating knee and joint pain.
“I've never been more self-conscious than I am now when I weighed 115kg,” she says.
“I was so tired all the time, my right knee was going limp.
“I went to physical therapists and doctors a lot because I never felt ‘right' physically or mentally.
“enough”
“But after multiple miscarriages, I decided enough was enough. I knew I had to lose weight if I wanted to feel healthy.”
The slim chances of her getting pregnant again prompted her to lose weight.
“Knowing we're not going to have another baby is my catalyst,” she said.
“If I can't achieve my goal of growing our family, I need to be in top shape to make sure our four-year-old daughter, Maila, has a healthy and happy mother to fall back on.”
In November 2021, she signed up for the Cambridge Weight Plan's 1:1 Diet, a low-calorie meal replacement that combines healthy eating with regular exercise.
“During the diet, I didn't exercise at all,” she says.
“I'm too self-conscious about my body and how I look after my workout.”
“Best decision ever”
In five months of eating healthy, she lost 18kg.
“Once I hit 75kg, I started doing Pilates and jogging to work on my core,” she says.
“Starting a diet was the best decision I've ever made because I've now established healthy habits.”
Over 15 months have passed and she has lost an impressive 28kg.
“It's amazing how quickly you can lose weight if you stick to the plan and focus on your goals,” she says.
“Honestly, I don't think I would lose weight without this diet.”
Brittany now follows a healthy diet – but enjoys the occasional “guilt.”
“Just not every day,” she said.
“I'm pretty consistent during the week and a little wobbly on the weekends.
“We still need to live. All the hard work in the beginning now removes the guilt.”
A Day in Brittany on a Plate
breakfast: protein shake
Lunch: chicken salad
snack: Yogurt and Granola
dinner: vegetable steak
“There's still a calorie count to keep up, but it's much easier now,” she says.
Her fitness ranges from body restructuring workout routines to strength training.
“It's great, it makes me feel great,” she said.
Brittany, who currently weighs 73kg, feels happier and healthier than ever as she can once again wear her favorite clothes and enjoy an active lifestyle with her youngest daughter.
“Old pictures of myself made me feel bad because I kept my weight off for so long,” she said.
“But the new photos of myself make me really proud of myself.
“I feel like a whole new, even sexier woman.”
