A hypoglycemic drug used by celebrities to lose weight, to be sold at Boots.
The high street chain plans to sell Wegovy, a self-injecting agent described by Variety magazine as “Hollywood's best-kept secret.”
Doctors say the drug should only be used as a weight loss tool if the patient is severely obese and under medical supervision. In the UK it is only available by prescription.
However, well-known users include Elon Musk. Asked how he lost weight last year, the billionaire businessman tweeted: “Fasting . . . and wegovi.”
It's also rumored that Kim Kardashian used the treatment to lose more than a stone in three weeks in order to fit in a dress Marilyn Monroe once wore.
