Anthony Anderson weighs in on Hollywood’s Ozempic weight loss trend

American actor Anthony Anderson recently explained how Hollywood uses Ozempic for weight loss.
in a new interview people“Hopefully this trend stops because it's affecting me,” said the Golden Globe nominee, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2002.
The actor continued, “I would say this creates a shortage for those of us who need medicine, not for weight loss, but for our health.”
More recently, Hollywood has turned to Ozempic, a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes, to “lose weight.”
Dr. Caroline Apovian, co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, believes the trend is “taking the lives of people with diabetes,” according to media reports.
Reflecting on the trend, Anthony said, “The trend in Hollywood is worrying.”
“We're not talking about a star who needs to lose 10 pounds. We're talking about someone who died of obesity, will die of obesity,” explains the health expert.
“We have lifesaving medicines … but the American public who really needs them are not getting them,” he added.
